TV and radio sports broadcaster Amber Sandhu is to host the 2024 Black Country Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

Amber, from Wolverhampton, will be in charge of proceedings when the Chamber welcomes more than 500 attendees to this year’s event on Thursday 21 November at University of Wolverhampton at The Halls.

Amber works across BBC Asian Network every Saturday afternoon and reports for Sky Sports News on their Premier League coverage, having also worked for BBC Midlands Today, Radio WM and 5live.

A Wolves Foundation ambassador who took on this year’s London Marathon for the good cause, Amber loves football and cricket, having reported on a number of tournaments for the latter such as The Hundred for BBC Sport and Women's Ashes for Sky Sports.

The Black Country Chamber Business Awards are the region’s biggest and best celebration of the business community, recognising the achievements of those doing business in Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton.

Black Country Chamber of Commerce CEO Sarah Moorhouse said: “As a proud Black Country professional who has built a career which continues to break new ground, we are delighted to have Amber as our host when we celebrate the very best of the Black Country’s business scene by partnering with us on our awards.

“Award entries are due to open next week so we look forward to seeing Amber lead the evening when we honour the success stories of our region.”

In a wide-ranging exclusive interview with the spring edition of the Chamber’s Prosper magazine Amber talked about her career to date, her ambitions and her hopes for greater diversity in the media.

She was the guest speaker, providing a presentation on her career and the many women who inspired her along the way, when the Chamber celebrated International Women's Day with an event at the Mount Country Manor Hotel in March.
